The Topshop Jumpsuit

So heres what happened yesterday evening.

I was dying to show you the new Topshop purchase because I love it so so much. At the same time I knew that:
a) I wount be home to take outfit pictures in daylight until the weekend
b) I will definitely not be going anywhere to wear it this week

So I put it on as I imagined styling it for a night out and asked the husband to take a few snaps near our house. Street light is far from perfect for this kind of ventures but as I said..I cant wait another 3 days to show you my new Topshop jumpsuit.

The thing with me is that as much as I enjoy wearing girly dresses for daytime, nothing makes me feel sexier than a cool jumpsuit. I have 3 at the moment that I love and wear a lot and this new one was a no brainer addition. I anyway love strapless clothing and the tailored bandeau with the pleated loose fitting trouser part just made it all perfect. Did I mention it has pockets!

Another surprise is that it fits like a glove- not too baggy harem pants style and not too tight so I look like wearing a cat-woman Halloween costume. And no need to constantly keep pulling up the bandeau, its fitted and stays put.

I wore it with my new favorite bracelet my sister sent me as a present. Its the New Vintage by Kriss Time to Rock- perfection in the form of black agate and a double wrap leather strap. Such a cool and unique piece that always gets peoples attention. Shoes are old Karen Millen metallic stilettos. I love metallic shoes, really need to get a bit lower heel more comfortable option sorted for summer.

This little photo shoot also worked as a perfect reminder and not so subtle hint (those always work the best with guys dont they) for the husband to plan some fancy date night so I could debut my jumpsuit.

OOTD-Fit & Flare

Dress: French Collection/Necklace: New Vintage by Kriss/Flats-Zara

This is my new black dress and I would even go as far as saying this is my favorite dress. All I want to wear is this dress..and if I know I will not be hanging out with the same people two days in a row..I will sure as hell wear it two days in a row. And not only cause it has pockets which kind of transport any dress automatically into my favorites category. This dress just ticks all the boxes for day time pretty. And I do know its just a boring black dress that doesn't bring anything unseen to the table but hear me out.

First of all its the perfect length. See I dont really like when fit and flare style dresses end mid thigh, for work they are just not practical. This one with its wide pleats and knee length works great for me.

Secondly I am a big fan of clothes that show off your back a bit. This is by no means overly open but the low dipped back detail drew me in.

Thirdly its made out of ribbed polyester material which feels so soft,stretchy and super comfortable. 

I could go on and on but the fact is- its simple and versatile (super cute worn with heels out to dinner as well) and very me. Its from the French Connections spring collection and also comes in pink. (Link)

 These red beauties were a Christmas present from the husband and boy did he do a good job. 

I tend to be rather classic in my shoe purchases but I also love having a pair of statement shoes that make the outfit. The Alexander McQueen red skull pumps definitely fit the bill.

 

They are fairly comfortable but the heel is high so we are not talking about strutting-around-all-day-long comfortable. Easily manageable for a night out thou. They are the shoes that rarely go unnoticed.

 

I always go super easy on the outfit when wearing these beauties. This time I teamed them with cuffed up black skinnies from Topshop and a floaty deep V-neck from Zara. I was all over this white top in Zara. Loved the deep V, the loose sleeves, the hem length. I was so excited I forgot to do my one Zara test- scrunch the fabric in your hands to see how easily it creases. I forgot and I learned my lesson. 

 This is the WORST creasing material I have ever seen in my life! The absolute worst! So i rarely wear it..maybe for a few hours for going out in the evening (to a place with low lighting). I still love the cut but seriously bad material.

Did somebody say "pleated midi"?

Yes those two are my weaknesses and combined they win me over in the matter of seconds. I am THAT weak!

ASOS has some awesome midi skirt options and as I was flicking through the sale section for millionth time (cause what if there was something I missed!!) I lingered at a black pleated midi.

It is a nice basic and I bought it.. but no, I did not stop at that. The same skirt also came in a perfect bright coral and well.. long story short.. here it is ( Link ):

 This is what I wore to work the day after ASOS package arrived. Top and shoes are both Massimo Dutti.

 And well one must high five after a successful ASOS purchase right?

 

The problem is my lusting for various midis has not died down yet. Next victims on ASOS could be this colorblock beauty or this pleated lace number.. or maybe I try to behave and at least wait til my Topshop structured midi arrives.

New In from ASOS

Some of my ASOS order arrived.

Unfortunately it seems like the parcel with the two most longed for items, the midi skirts, has been lost in mail. After I dried my tears and accepted this fact I realized that some of the stuff that did arrive is actually great.

Like this beige/nude crop blazer.

First of all I really really like beige..well everything. Bags, shoes.. dresses especially. So it was unnatural I did not own a beige blazer. Unnatural I tell you!

I was worried that the material is going to be too thick but its light and lovely and I can hopefully carry on wearing it for a bit longer before the crazy Dubai heat kicks in.

The cropped length is great and works well with both dresses and jeans. The fabric is soft and stretchy which makes it super comfortable and I might have worn it three evening in a row now. (cant.help.must.wear.new.things.all.the.time)

Ohh and here comes the best part. They still have it in stock AND its on sale( Link ) and there is a red verison on sale also ( Link ). I kind of really need that red one now..this is a never ending circle huh?

Now the necklaces. These are by my favorite jewelry brand called "New Vintage" by Kriss. I whole heartedly love the brand and the designer who is beautiful, talented and absolutely awesome and I happen to be lucky enough to be related to her. 

But honestly.. I don't love her pieces because she is my sister, I just think they are perfect!

Here I am wearing one of my all time favorites Miss "Fangs" from the Rocking Halo collection. 

Its made from pieces of raw rock crystal.

The shorter necklace is also from the rock crystal collection and is called Miss "Rock". This one is a newer addition to my stash and I love the short length. It's such a good layering piece.

So there you have it. I got a few more new items so expect more outfit posts.

And I have to admit..maybe the one thing I loved more than wearing my new blazer was cuddling with Sweety. Isn't she just too cute for words!

Mid(i)week

Firstly!

Thank you Laura for finally convincing me to start blogging.. and thank you all the lovely people who found their way to my blog..

Now lets talk about Tuesdays! I will never get used to the Middle East working week and the fact that Sunday is workday and Tuesday is midweek. Tuesday just does not feel like a midweek kind of a day.. instead it feels like a day after Monday and should in theory still be in the first half of the week..

But ok midweek it is then. And to celebrate that Im wearing heels and red lippy (Nars Red Square- my favorite color for about a year now!) to work. You will have to bear with me regarding the photo quality please. At this moment the only person to take my outfit photos is my husband and that conversation went a little like this..

Me:"Honey can you come outside before I leave for work and take some photos of me for the blog? It shouldnt take longer than 10min.."

Him:"10 min?? Thats a really long time to take pictures. How many do you need?"

Me:" I dont know the number! Only a few but I need some to choose from.. like close ups and full body and one of only shoes and..maybe I will make weird faces or my hair wount look good on some..or.."

I saw I was losing him already so figured we will have to wing it for the first one and it is what it is. (Morgan I know you will read this so thank you very much for taking my pictures.. I will bake you a cake for it I promise!)

There is a whole lot of my favorite wardrobe staples in here.

Like the basic cotton tshirt from Cos. Cos does the best basic shirts ever! I love the quality and the fit and I keep repurchasing them. Whenever I went to London I almost ran to Cos every time..and stocked up on different color tshirts and more often than not a dress as well. Its a Swedish brand and has that awesome scandi minimal design with funky cuts and good quality fabrics.

I did do a small happy dance when Cos opened in Dubai mall!

And the Cos praise will be followed with some more Cos praise because this midi skirt is also from there. Do you wear midis? I used to be soo worried before that they will make me look like a grandma and that the midi length is unflattering etc. But after I finally bought my first midi a few years back they have become one of the most worn item in my closet.

I mean it shows off your waist and makes you feel ladylike and fashionable at the same time. Whats not to love? Now if im honest there may or may not be a recent ASOS order on the way with one (read: two) new midi skirts!

Ok so..the shoes! (is it normal that a pair of shoes makes you swoon?) These are single handedly the most comfortable heels I have ever owned. I was on a lookout for a perfect classic leopard heel for ages because isnt leopard print the best basic color ever. Winner in my book any day.
Well these Diane von Furstenberg babies just tick all the boxes for me.

✓  heel hight that allows me to wear them day time 

✓  soft padding under the sole for comfort  

✓  great print with right amount of black and beige to go with everything

They are so comfortable that I went ahead and ordered the same style in black patent and I am now on the hunt for a red pair. I have a DVF shoes obsession!

So here we are, my first outfit post all done. 

Lets end this with another pet photo shall we. I thought we don't know each other so well yet so maybe its too soon to show my true colors. But I will just come out and say it- Im a crazy cat lady and its my pleasure to introduce our second rescue cat Zulu!
