OOTD Brunch in NYC

Hi lovely humans,

I have totally neglected the blog and I'm not happy about. Its just that time flies when you are having fun and fun was what I had in New York and it has continued into this week in Estonia. Thats what vacations are for right?

At the same time I can not wait to share all the new goodies I got from the big apple (a haul video is in the making) and it also happens to be my favorite day in the world today- my bday! My amazing family and husband have spoiled me rotten with great present that will need to be recorded for you asap.

For today I have a outfit from my last day in New York. We went for a lovely family brunch and I wore a new dress from COS. Its a light weight jersey with draping that makes a super simple silhouette a little more interesting. It seems to be sold out online store but you could get a similar feel with this Asos number or this BCBG one.

Shoes are old Zara sandals still going strong and sunglasses are Gucci (Link).

Hope you are having a fantastic first day of September. Things are very much autumn like in Estonia so I'm totally enjoying wearing my coats and boots for a few more days.

OOTD - Pale Pink and Faux Leather

First of all before you get shocked on further scrolling I need to tell you something. Im wearing faux leather shorts in this post (!!??). Me- the girl who almost never wears shorts and whose wardrobe is made up of flowy, feminine dresses actually owns a pair of those and wears them out of the house! This is just cray-cray I know.

But lets ease you into this by starting with the top. Remember in this post I told you how I enabled myself into buying some tops from Mango. The pink strap top is one of them. It is now on sale and I'm tempted to pick up a few more colors cause its great. Thick material that falls nicely, it has inner lining so its not see through, great length to also wear with jeans, pastel colors to choose from- ticks all the right boxes if you ask me. Mine is a very pale pastel pink but as the pictures were taken at sunset the sky was a bit pink as well and the right color doesn't really show on these photos.

Should we address the shorts next? They are a few years old from Blanco so I cant give you a link. I tried to find something similar that is in stores atm but everything is too short( like these..soo teeny tiny!). You see the thing I love the most about these fake leather shorts is their cut. Its high waist, slouchy leg and its end almost mid thigh. So even if the leather material suggest an edgy sexy vibe the cut is not ass skimming or tight.

Honestly I dont wear these shorts very often but once in a blue moon I feel like it and this weekend was one of those times.

The cuff is from COS. I dont see the exact one in stores now but this is pretty similar. Earrings are tiny rock crystal squares from Rocking Halo collection by NVbyK. They go with everything and are at the moment my most worn earrings.

Whats your "faux leather shorts"? I mean do you have an item in the closet that doesn't really match with the rest of your style but makes you feel great once in a while?

OOTD and chitchat

Firstly this is a quick OOTD from yesterday morning.

The cats woke us up earlier than needed which left some spare minutes to take these photos before work.
The new bits here are the super basic white T-shirt and the jewelry.

I am always and forever on the lookout for new basic t-shirts. I go through white ones so fast and although my favorite basics come from COS, I also like to have various styles to choose from. Maybe its weird but I totally notice when people have a cool plain white tshirt on, so when I saw this rolled-up sleeve t-shirt on my friend Diana I marched to Mango the next day and bought it in both black and white.

It has a high neck, short raglan style sleeves and a raw edge hem which rolls up a bit. Its a true basic but something about it just makes it more special than my other shirts. Maybe because I find the high neckline perfect for playing with jewelry.

The skirt is an old sale find from Reiss and the shoes are these Topshop beauties Im still totally smitten with. Not to tempt you or anything but in addition to many other color choices they now also come in baby blue suede (OMG! I WANT!). The heel height is just perfect for day time and I'm very much considering ordering another pair.

The bling is layered New Vintage by Kriss as always. The shorter one is my beautiful and treasured dainty Love necklace with a bright pink jade drop on it. The longer one is a new addition and I'm kind of in love with it. It is the Miss Coco Goes Rebel from the COCO Collection-white cultured pearl with a golden spike is exactly the way I like to wear pearls.

Now for the chitchat- if usually I am enabled by other blogs to buy more things then this time I did it to myself. When I went to find the link for the Mango shirt I obviously had to browse some pages of the online store. How hadn't I noticed there was so much pretty tops in this season Mango selection? Well I never really go into Mango lately so that's how. But look at this one or this one and that one as well. So yeah what that little "research" did, was make me go straight to Mango after work and purchase two tops. I fully accept that I'm hopeless case and will just happily continue shopping.

Will show you the new things soon but now I really have to start this long weekend with a trip to the beach.

Hope you have a great day!

Mid(i)week

Firstly!

Thank you Laura for finally convincing me to start blogging.. and thank you all the lovely people who found their way to my blog..

Now lets talk about Tuesdays! I will never get used to the Middle East working week and the fact that Sunday is workday and Tuesday is midweek. Tuesday just does not feel like a midweek kind of a day.. instead it feels like a day after Monday and should in theory still be in the first half of the week..

But ok midweek it is then. And to celebrate that Im wearing heels and red lippy (Nars Red Square- my favorite color for about a year now!) to work. You will have to bear with me regarding the photo quality please. At this moment the only person to take my outfit photos is my husband and that conversation went a little like this..

Me:"Honey can you come outside before I leave for work and take some photos of me for the blog? It shouldnt take longer than 10min.."

Him:"10 min?? Thats a really long time to take pictures. How many do you need?"

Me:" I dont know the number! Only a few but I need some to choose from.. like close ups and full body and one of only shoes and..maybe I will make weird faces or my hair wount look good on some..or.."

I saw I was losing him already so figured we will have to wing it for the first one and it is what it is. (Morgan I know you will read this so thank you very much for taking my pictures.. I will bake you a cake for it I promise!)

There is a whole lot of my favorite wardrobe staples in here.

Like the basic cotton tshirt from Cos. Cos does the best basic shirts ever! I love the quality and the fit and I keep repurchasing them. Whenever I went to London I almost ran to Cos every time..and stocked up on different color tshirts and more often than not a dress as well. Its a Swedish brand and has that awesome scandi minimal design with funky cuts and good quality fabrics.

I did do a small happy dance when Cos opened in Dubai mall!

And the Cos praise will be followed with some more Cos praise because this midi skirt is also from there. Do you wear midis? I used to be soo worried before that they will make me look like a grandma and that the midi length is unflattering etc. But after I finally bought my first midi a few years back they have become one of the most worn item in my closet.

I mean it shows off your waist and makes you feel ladylike and fashionable at the same time. Whats not to love? Now if im honest there may or may not be a recent ASOS order on the way with one (read: two) new midi skirts!

Ok so..the shoes! (is it normal that a pair of shoes makes you swoon?) These are single handedly the most comfortable heels I have ever owned. I was on a lookout for a perfect classic leopard heel for ages because isnt leopard print the best basic color ever. Winner in my book any day.
Well these Diane von Furstenberg babies just tick all the boxes for me.

✓  heel hight that allows me to wear them day time
✓  soft padding under the sole for comfort
✓  great print with right amount of black and beige to go with everything

They are so comfortable that I went ahead and ordered the same style in black patent and I am now on the hunt for a red pair. I have a DVF shoes obsession!

So here we are, my first outfit post all done.

Lets end this with another pet photo shall we. I thought we don't know each other so well yet so maybe its too soon to show my true colors. But I will just come out and say it- Im a crazy cat lady and its my pleasure to introduce our second rescue cat Zulu!
